garden state has changed me.
its a long post, but i like it. its handy if youre bored.
baton girls: you NEED to call me so i can call liane...its about the two hour practices...or email me or something
so my summer has just started and is ending. today, i am unemployed. i stayed up late watching "finding nemo" and took it upon myself to sleep in. i woke up feeling sleepy, though. lets backtrack, because this weekend has been what summer is supposed to be: avoiding excessive thinking about boredom and also the internet
friday, i started my ap physics homework.
saturday morning, my mum, pop and i drove to arrowhead to visit the canadians and their family. rewind, I drove. i love driving my moms car MUAHAAAAAAAA excellent braking i might add. there was one point where i said "dad, we've been driving for 36 minutes right?" and his response was "just about, and we've gone 42 miles...wait 42 miles in 36 minutes? marie..." ive never actually paid attention before that day on the drive to arrowhead. so it was like going somewhere in the middle of nowhere for the first time. i love the goehner (sp) family and all their relatives. last time we saw them, we were hanging out at their beach house in ventura..so we had a fun time in the mountain cabin. except for the part where i turned left just as a car was speeding towards us and my mom freaked like no other...heh the only mistake the whole day...one of em (allene) was sick and stuff so that sucked, but i hung out with breanna and marta (who is the coolest...she is a younger, less stressed version of ms peters and teaches bio too...shes on the u.s. skeleton team (aweeesome) and did crew in college...which we talked about because im obsessed)...will had just turned 18 that week...then we went to the village to go shopping...always fun...we went home that evening blah blah blah...did some physics.
sunday, woke up late, and went to church...its amazing when something like the homily actually gets to you and makes you think...it was on the "good news" and what it means...do we go to church to hear the news? or out of fear...well my goal in life is to go for the value...then we went home and my sisters and i went to see "garden state"...let me say, that i recommend it to everyone. most of us will relate. it stars zach braff of 'scrubs' and natalie portman, whom i love! this movie is amazing. its hard to describe, but it makes you want to become a part of them...to experience the good stuff...to be changed in just 4 days. it seems like everything that went on in the movie is something i can relate to, or have thought about...all those deep philosophical moments. that movie makes me want to cry and smile and sing and dance and breathe at the same time. right now, its my favorite. its not too dark, and not too light...just right. i encourage everyone to see it. and yes that means i broke my movie boycott.
after that i went to lily's performance in glendale. lily is now the lovely age of 7 and i met her when she was one...someday ill do a post on her. she is amazing. she is everything a parent wants their kid to be. and shes also my best friend. she made me a card/mini book which i told her would be my first locker decoration. i can look at it everyday and be reminded that there is good in the world. lily, you are forever on my list of people who have affected me or changed me. and thats an accomplishment. her performance was many different skits..entertaining and funny. and she played the cutest bumble bee who couldnt get onto noah's ark...you make me smile!
went to her house for dessert after etc...
stayed up late watching the olympics and doing physics homework. which i finished on time!!...yeehaw...then i turned on finding nemo and you know the rest...
this morning was the most delightful day...i went to drop off lexi's math book, and then i went to the bank...then i went to target and bought snow patrol's cd and also the spidey 2 soundtrack...snow patrol is an interesting band...theyre brits i believe...they make me happy...its kinda like soft yellowcard meets switchfoot meets rooney meets my heart hehe..ill put up lyrics later.
then i came home and am currently in the middle of fahrenheit 911. quite interesting...ive always been the one to mock politics and i never cared what went on...i mean, i still dont. as a joke i always supported bush, to piss people off...but as elyssa said, this movie makes you think...its amazing how badly they can portray bush...i have no idea if its true, but hey mike moore is a funny man...so yes, i watch this not for its political factor, but for the entertainment factor!
this week i guess ill paint the locker room. and ive promised everyone that we have to go out...been seeing all the girls! so contact me.
